Machiavelli on Singapore Media

Posted by inspir3d on August 28, 2006

“In order to get a sense of the rationale behind the recent apparently erratic attitude towards blogging in Singapore, it’s instructive to turn to Machiavelli’s ‘The Prince’. Specifically, what he has to say about the difficulties inherent in conquering centralized versus decentralized states is remarkably relevant when applied to the mainstream media (MSM) compared to alternative media, specifically the blogosphere.” …more (MercerMachine; recommended by Cobalt Paladin)

On Foreign Talent, Immigration and Jobs

Posted by inspir3d on August 28, 2006

“The KTM has been busy and haven’t had very much time to spout much nonsense on the Prime Minister’s National Day Rally speech. Nevertheless, a promise is a promise, so boh pian, got to make good. :-)” …more (KTM)

For us, the real constraint is time. If you want to raise kids, you should do it properly. To do it properly, you need time. I think we currently do a respectable job as parents of two kids. But the way I see it, if No. 3 comes along, then Mrs Wang has to quit her job to be a full-time mum.” …more (Mr Wang)
